Here, age 41, Jess passed away on 19th July 2018. With eagles generally living only 20-25 years in the wild, he had a good run to age 47, living at the sanctuary since 1972. In 2017 he received pioneering radiation treatment for a cancerous growth in his eye, then fully recovered and remained an active participant in the 'Spirits of the Sky' show.
