Locals relaxing on the edge of Durbar Marg
The Vatsala Durga temple (just right of centre) was initially constructed in 1696 and later rebuilt. The Shikhara style temple is made of sandstone and represents the holy Tibetan mountain, Mount Kailash. Sadly, the temple was reduced to rubble by the earthquakes on 25 April 2015. Hopefully it can be rebuilt in the years to come.
