The upper reaches of the Aire River, near Great Otway NP
The shell of a cicada clings to a Giant Sequoia against a background of tree ferns and the Aire River.
This isolated stand of Californian Redwoods, Sequoia Sempervirens, was planted in 1938. This variety is the only one taller than the Australian Mountain Ash. The canopy is so thick that very little ground cover can grow.
