Remote Summer houses below Gardstinden, Austvågøya
(Haliaeetus albicilla). Once almost extinct, the population is now recovering with around 10,000 pairs. It has the largest wing span of any eagle, up to 2.5m and can be found in Northern Europe and Asia.
Created in 1999 by Per Ung, this unusual beacon is a sculpture called Fiskerkona (The Fisherman’s Wife)
